Learn about the required qualities, traits, and skills of those careers before making a decision. It should be easy after this process

List the desired job’s requirements and mark which ones you meet. Identify the areas where you lack experience or skills. To become competent in those areas, take a course or volunteer as an apprentice to gain experience. You can even work for low wages or free of charge. If you do well and show your usefulness to the employer, you might be hired.

Data Science is comprised of 3 main parts:

1. Data Engineering. This involves the collection and the cleaning of data 
2. Data Analysis. Data cleaning and data analysis, and;
3. Machine Learning.  This involves the diagnostic, prescriptive and predictive parts of Data Science. 

To become a data analyst, you need certain qualities and skills in tools such as MS Excel, MS Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview, IBM Cognos and SQL. Companies do not use all the tools in data analytics, so focus on learning the most in-demand ones for the role you want.

Skills: problem solving, critical thinking, detail-orientedness, collaboration, simplifying stories, creativity, learning mindset and curiosity are a few important qualities necessary in a good data analyst.
